Grégoire Beraud's universe oscillates between documentary and conceptual. In pushing the limits of the traditional photographic medium, he displays Nature's materiality and restores its narrative importance. His stories speak of the straining relation and growing frontiers between mankind and its environment.

He approached this residency as an opportunity to turn into a book a wide-ranging corpus of images taken in the Peruvian Amazon. Originally a dialogue between the native Matsigenka's conception of nature and his own interpretation, it turned more sensitive and experiential when he designed alongside the native community the imagineku prints (lit., images in her dreams). These pictures are the result of an artisanal process where the paper is dyed on-site with local natural pigments before being printed on. Read and bound together in an object that looks as though coming out of the jungle, they create an immersion that brings us back to our relation with color and with nature.
